Each session lasts 50 minutes. Most clients choose to have counselling once a week, especially in the beginning when they need the most support. The total length of a course of therapy depends on each individual client’s needs and personal circumstances. Minor problems can be solved in as few as 1–6 sessions. Moderate problems take up to 12 sessions. Severe problems take 20 or more sessions. Many clients choose to continue having counselling for as long as they find it beneficial.
